Savings circles: Economic power through solidarity
Joining a savings circle changed my life in ways I never expected. Every week, I meet with 14 other women to contribute our savings, share business ideas, and support each other’s ventures.
At first, I was skeptical. How could saving small amounts with my neighbours make a real difference? But the power of collective saving became clear quickly. Within six months, I had enough capital to start my own tailoring business.
More importantly, I had a network of women who believed in me. When I faced challenges, they offered advice and encouragement. When I needed a small loan to buy equipment, they supported me without hesitation.
The savings circle is more than an economic strategy—it’s a community of mutual support and empowerment. Together, we are stronger than we could ever be alone. We are building not just businesses, but a future of dignity and independence.
